Privacy Policy
In this privacy policy "we", "us", "our" and "The Dolphins" means Dolphins NRL Ltd, its associates, related entities and subsidiaries. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully as it describes how we collect, use and handle your Personal Information.
Capitalised terms in this Privacy Policy have the meaning given to such terms in the National Rugby League's (NRL) Privacy Policy located at https://www.nrl.com/privacy-policy/.
Dolphins recognises the importance of your privacy and your right to control your Personal Information and is committed to complying with applicable privacy laws (including the Privacy Act and GDPR). We will only request Personal Information that is reasonably necessary for us to perform our functions and activities as a Club. Please be aware, you are under no obligation to provide us with your Personal Information, but if you choose not to provide your Personal Information, you may not be able to take advantage of one or more of the features we offer.
On request and wherever it is lawful and practicable, we will offer you the opportunity of not identifying yourself, or of using a pseudonym, when entering transactions, or otherwise dealing with, The Dolphins.
The Dolphins is always seeking to better understand our player and fan preferences including by analysing your Personal Information to understand trends and interests. Dolphins has, in conjunction with the NRL, other Clubs, Queensland Rugby League (QRL), New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL), Country League of New South Wales and selected third parties, established a data storage architecture for processing Personal Information with this aim (Rugby League Exchange).
The NRL will be responsible for the maintenance and administration of the Rugby League Exchange.
Dolphins will share your Personal Information with the NRL as part of the Rugby League Exchange so that they can analyse fan behaviour and preferences to improve fan support, fan offerings, provide more targeted content and products and any other purposes described in the NRL's Privacy Policy. We encourage you to read the NRL's Privacy Policy to understand how your Personal Information will be handled in relation to the Rugby League Exchange.
The types of Personal Information The Dolphins may collect depends on the purposes for which such information is collected but may include (without limitation):
(a) your name, gender, date or birth, occupation, residential address, email address, telephone number and other contact details;
(b) memberships, subscriptions and attendance history at The Dolphins matches (whether you have used your membership to purchase tickets, or as a casual ticket purchaser);
(c) purchasing preferences and financial details which we collect when you buy tickets, purchase merchandise and/or as part of competitions and promotions; and
The Dolphins will generally not collect Sensitive Information from you. However, where The Dolphins seeks to collect Sensitive Information from you, it will do so in accordance with applicable privacy laws (including the Privacy Act and GDPR), for instance by obtaining your express consent for such a collection.
In addition to Personal Information, we use cookies, web beacons and other technologies on our website to collect information about your usage of our services (for instance, third party websites you visit to better understand your preferences and what types of products and services you may be interested in.
Where it is reasonable and practicable to do so, The Dolphins will collect Personal Information directly from you as follows (without limitation):
(a) when you order merchandise through our online store located at https://shop.classicsports.com.au
(b) when you purchase and manage membership through our online store located at https://dolphinsnrl.com.au/.
In addition to collecting Personal Information directly from you, we may also collect Personal Information from:
(a) the NRL, Queensland Rugby League, New South Wales Rugby League and selected third parties (for instance, Ticketek and Ticketmaster).
The Dolphins generally only collects, uses, discloses or holds Personal Information that is reasonably necessary for The Dolphins to perform one or more functions or activities as a club including (without limitation):
(a) organisation, conduct and promotion of matches involving The Dolphins (for instance, providing you information about upcoming ticket offers and deals for the next home matches);
(b) promotion and sale of The Dolphins merchandise;
(c) direct marketing of The Dolphins products or services; and
(d) direct marketing of The Dolphins corporate partners products and services.
We only use, disclose or hold your Personal Information for the primary purpose for which it was collected, a related secondary purpose, in accordance with any express consent you grant us or as otherwise lawfully required (e.g. where your Personal Information is requested by a law enforcement agency).
The Dolphins may provide your Personal Information to third parties as part of our functions and activities including (without limitation):
(a) Delivery, courier and postal organizations: we may disclose your Personal Information to delivery, courier and postal organizations in order to deliver merchandise you order;
(b) The NRL, other Clubs, QRL, NSWRL, Country League of New South Wales and selected third parties (for instance, Ticketek and Ticketmaster): we may disclose your Personal Information as part of the Rugby League Exchange. The NRL and selected third parties may send you information about products and services which the NRL believes will be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive information from the NRL, please opt out from such promotional and marketing information via your NRL account, links in emails and other communication we send to you from time to time or contact the NRL's Privacy Officer in accordance with the NRL Privacy Policy;
(c) Law enforcement and emergency services agencies: we may disclose your Personal Information where required or authorised to do so by law, including in emergency situations and to assist law enforcement agencies with active investigations. We will always ensure that those to whom we disclose your Personal Information have the legal right to receive it;
(d) Marketing and promotions: we engage email marketing providers, market research companies, promotions management and other data analytics companies to perform direct marketing on our behalf. You will always have the right to opt out of receiving promotional materials from us.
We understand you have entrusted us with the protection of your Personal Information. As such, we will take reasonable steps, with the assistance of the NRL, to protect your Personal Information from misuse, loss, unauthorized access, modification or disclosure. This includes engaging reputable third party service providers and ensuring that we engage (where possible and practical to do so) in best practice security systems and procedures.
You can access, review and manage your Personal Information through:
(a) your NRL Account (using your login credentials);
(b) communications preferences via links in emails and other communications we send to you from time to time; or
(c) by contacting The Dolphins Privacy Officer via info@dolphinsnrl.com.au
Note: Please ensure that any written request for access or correction addressed to our Privacy Officer provides adequate detail that enables us to identify you as well as the specific Personal Information you want to access or have corrected. Where your request will incur costs, we may charge you a fee to cover those costs (for instance, reasonable staff costs in searching for, locating and retrieving the requested Personal Information). We will inform you of any such charges prior to your request being actioned.
You will be responsible for ensuring your Personal Information remains accurate, complete and up to date. Please ensure that any written request for access or correction addressed to our Privacy Officer provides adequate detail that identifies what Personal Information you want access to or corrected. Where your request will require The Dolphins to incur costs, we may charge you an access fee to cover those costs (for instance, reasonable staff costs in searching for, locating and retrieving the requested Personal Information). We will inform you of any such charges prior to them being incurred.
In certain circumstances, we may refuse to provide you access to your Personal Information. Where we refuse you access, we will provide you with a written explanation as to the reasons for the rejection (for instance, we may refuse to disclose Personal Information to you where such access would have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of other individuals).
In the event of any loss, or unauthorised access or disclosure of your Personal Information that is likely to result in serious harm to you, The Dolphins, with the assistance of the NRL, will investigate and notify you and where applicable the relevant supervisory authority (e.g. the Australian Information Commissioner) within 72 hours of becoming aware of the loss, or unauthorised access or disclosure, in accordance with applicable privacy laws (including the Privacy Act and GDPR).
All complaints and inquiries concerning your Personal Information, including in respect of alleged breaches of this Privacy Policy or the Privacy Act, should be directed to The Dolphins Privacy Officer via:

At all times, privacy inquiries and complaints will be treated seriously, and dealt with promptly and confidentially.
11. Privacy Policy updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, in which case we will post the updated version of the Privacy Policy on our website (https://dolphinsnrl.com.au/) but may not personally notify you. As such, please check back periodically to see if our Privacy Policy has been updated.
The Dolphins may use your personal image captured by an employee and or contractor, broadcaster or another source (subject to copyright) if that image was captured during a club function or club related activity by photograph, video or otherwise.
Your image may be used in The Dolphins promotion and marketing material released through, but not limited to, the following official The Dolphins platforms:
Where possible, The Dolphins will request the permission of any individuals clearly identified in a photograph or video and seek express consent for the use of their personal image.
However, if The Dolphins are unable to, or it is not possible to, request the permission of an individual for use of their image, it will proceed to use the image for any reasonable purpose consistent with our club functions and activities.
If your personal image has been used without express consent, you can request that the image be removed by contacting The Dolphins and lodging a formal request.
Terms of Use
The NRL Network websites, applications and other digital platforms (“NRL Network”) are operated by National Rugby League Limited on behalf of Queensland Rugby League, New South Wales Rugby League, Country Rugby League of NSW, NRL Clubs and each of their respective associates, related entities and subsidiaries (we, us, our).
Use of the NRL Network and any information or services provided through the NRL Network is subject to the following terms and conditions and any additional terms and conditions, rules, disclaimers and notices displayed by us elsewhere on the NRL Network from time to time (together, the Terms of Use).
By registering on the NRL Network or by accessing or using any part of the NRL Network and the information and services provided through the NRL Network, you will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by the Terms of Use as updated from time to time, whether you are a visitor simply browsing the NRL Network or you become a registered user of the NRL Network (both, Users). If you do not agree with any of Terms of Use, or any changes to them, do not register on or use the NRL Network.
The NRL Network is designed to provide a place where fans and members of the public can visit to learn about our products and services, receive leading digital experiences, and consume news, articles and other multimedia content in relation to the NRL and the game of rugby league.
The information and material contained in or available through the NRL Network (Information) is provided for general informational purposes only. Users access the NRL Network, and rely on the Information, at their own risk.
By using the NRL Network, you agree that:
You may register on the NRL Network in order to access certain parts of the NRL Network, including certain premium content, additional product features and functionality, and in order for us to provide you with information and other content on the NRL Network to match your selected preferences (eg news stories from your favourite NRL clubs).
When you register, we will collect certain registration information from you. Such information may include, but is not limited to, your name, contact details and Rugby League-related preferences. We may also collect additional information based on your usage of the NRL Network.
We may use the information collected to provide a personalised experience for you on the NRL Network, for our own business and administrative purposes (including the purposes set out in our collection statement, available here: www.nrl.com/collection-statement and the collection statement of your NRL Club or State).
We will deal with any personal information we collect about you in accordance with the NRL Privacy Policy, available here: www.nrl.com/privacy-policy, the Privacy Policy of your Club or State and privacy law.
You must provide us with complete and up-to-date registration information, as requested. It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes to your registration information.
You must keep your user-name and password confidential and secure and not permit any other person to access the NRL Network using your user-name and password.
We are entitled to assume that all uses of the NRL Network under a User's user-name are undertaken by that User (unless we have been told that the User's details have been compromised).
Users acknowledge and agree that we may:
Access to the NRL Network depends on telecommunications and internet service providers and other external factors and we do not guarantee the availability of the NRL Network at all times or at any specific times.
While we will take reasonable precautions to ensure the NRL Network is secure, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed as totally secure.
Accordingly, we cannot ensure the security of any information transmitted to, from or using the NRL Network and Users do so at their own risk.
Some parts of the NRL Network may allow Users to submit, upload, post or transmit content or material such as text, photos, images, audio and video (including links to content or material) (Material), including Material that may be accessed and viewed by other Users.
Users are responsible for any Material they submit to, on or through the NRL Network and must respect the legal rights and sensibilities of other Users.
We reserve the right to (but have no obligation to) review, remove, modify, deny access to or not display any Material submitted, uploaded, posted or transmitted to, on or through the NRL Network in our sole discretion, including where that Material is Prohibited Material or otherwise breaches the Terms of Use.
By submitting, uploading, posting or transmitting Material to, on or through the NRL Network, Users:
We do not warrant that Material submitted, uploaded, posted or transmitted by Users will be protected against misuse by third parties. In particular, we are not responsible for the infringement of the copyright in Material by other Users.

We do not endorse or support any views or opinions posted by Users on the NRL Network or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, currency or suitability of any information posted by Users.
Users agree that we are not liable for the opinions or behaviour of other Users, including any Material they submit, upload, post or transmit on the NRL Network and any defamatory statements or offensive conduct.
Users who believe that the behaviour or Material of another User is objectionable or contrary to the Terms of Use can report the behaviour or Material to us using the contact details below.
Except as required by law, we give no express or implied warranties or guarantees, and make no representations, in relation to the NRL Network or any Information or services available through the NRL Network. In particular, we do not warrant or represent that:
Nothing in this document excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty or other term or condition, implied or imposed by any legislation that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and similar State or Territory legislation (Non-Excludable Provision). However, to the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability to a User for failure to comply with any Non-Excludable Provision is limited (at our option):

Provision of a link should not be construed as an endorsement or approval of the third party website by us.
We are not responsible for the content of third party websites, which are not covered by the Terms of Use. Users access those websites at their own risk.
You acknowledge that we may receive fees or commissions from third parties in relation to links to third party websites.
Users are liable to us in relation to all loss and damage whatsoever that is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) by us as a direct or indirect result of them acting inconsistently with or breaching any part of the Terms of Use, except to the extent that we cause or contribute to such loss or damage.
Copyright in the material in or available on the NRL Network is owned by us or our licensors.
Users may access and view the NRL Network and associated information and content using their web browser and download information from the NRL Network and print out that information, but only for their own private, non-commercial use.
Where we expressly invite you to do so, you may share certain content available on the NRL Network on social media. Except as permitted by the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), no part of the NRL Network (including any Material posted on the NRL Network) may be reproduced, copied, published, framed, or transmitted in any form or by any means without our prior written consent. The Terms of Use will be governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Users agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales in the event of a dispute arising out of, or in connection with, the Terms of Use or any use of the NRL Network.
We may amend these terms and conditions from time to time by posting the amended version on the NRL Network. Subsequent or continuing use of the NRL Network will constitute acceptance of any changes.
If any part of the Terms of Use is or becomes void, it will not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions. The void part will be replaced by provisions that are valid and have an effect as close as possible to the effect of the void part.
